-2006/04/25 Site Updates:
-The site has been switched into Storm Mode for the remainder of the severe storm season. I will concentrate all of my efforts on updating the storm prediction and chasing aspect of the site as often as possible. Other parts of the site may not be updated as often as they ususally are.
-Due to the rapid decent of the Red River, I have elected to archive the Grand Forks Flood Center earlier than expected. It can be found in the archived pages section instead of the home page.
-Chase Logs 2006 has been released! This weather page tracks my storm chases and weather encounters for the 2006 storm season.
-2006/04/22 Flood Center has been updated for the final time. It will be placed in the Archived Centers page at the end of the month.
-2006/04/22 Storm Center has finally been completed. Check it out to view the latest storm information across the US and Minnesota.
-2006/04/18 (Updated 4/21) Grand Forks had its first taste of summer severe weather today! A large complex of storms rolled through this afternoon and evening producing stunning clouds and awesome lightning. This storm ushers in the 2006 lightning storm season--my fifth year of taking lightning photos (five years on August 17)!!! Click the links below to see the lightning pics.
-2006/04/08 Tonight I express my deepest condolences to the people of the SE United States who have been raveged this past week by wave after wave of storms. The number of deaths from this storm system is hopefully not a prelude to the 2006 storm season. From a weather persepective I have never seen such high SPC probability percentages for this storm system. I included maps from several days ago of these probs.--anyone who uses the SPC maps know these numbers are almost unheard of.
