November 2006 News Archive

-November 11, 2006: More work on the site. The homepage is finally completed. The photo of the week has been updated and a page hosting the previous photos and videos of the week has been created--its link is just below the photo and video of the week. The proposed flash image and RSS links for the homepage have been scrapped. The site map at the bottom of the homepage has been streamlined. The photo gallery thumbnail setup is now completed; the only thing remaining for the gallery will be to upload more pages of photos. This will take the longest time and will not be done for several months. The list of the galleries not uploaded yet is below the initial selection page. I am also preparing to start work on the Unique Weather section of the site by converting my reports into PDF documents. This section of the site should be up around Thanksgiving.

-November 10, 2006: Today marks the 31st anniversary of the sinking of the ore carrier Edmund Fitzgerald on a stormy Lake Superior with the loss of her entire 29 member crew. Her loss underscores the risks sailors on the Great Lakes face everyday. Please hold the sailors lost on the Fitz in your prayers.

-November 10, 2006: The site continues towards completion. The storm chasing, weather links, and weather videos sections were completed today. Some new links were added to storm chasing, the storm center logo in the weather links was linked to storm center, and the weather videos section was slimmed down. The storm chase prob on the homepage is linked to Chase Logs 2007, which was launched today. The sections that remain to be completed are: photo gallery, live midwest weather, unique weather, lightning photography, and my weather equipment.

-November 9, 2006: For the past two weeks the site has undergone several major changes. The homepage now hosts an RSS feed that links to MN, SD, ND, and WI weather warnings. The photo gallery page has been completely redone in a new format, but the galleries will be revised in the near future once again for expansion purposes. The weather software downloads page has been completed.
